Have an Echo Show? Want free (and sometimes paid) access to live and on-demand TV shows, movies, and cooking classes? Stay tuned for all of the ways you can access free and paid TV shows on your Echo Show devices.
All of the content providers listed here will work with a first-generation Echo Show or a 2nd-generation Echo Show, but a few exclude access to owners of the Echo Show 5, Echo Show 8, and Echo Show 10 (although you may want to try viewing on these devices as device availability changes regularly). Interested in listening to TV shows on Alexa devices? You can do that too by pulling up any of the following providers below.
Amazon Prime Video
If you have an Amazon Echo Show device (any generation) there’s a good chance you’re also an Amazon Prime subscriber. One of the Amazon Prime subscriber perks is the ability to access Amazon’s Prime Video library on any Echo Show device or any Alexa device with a screen.
Simply say, “Alexa, open Prime Video” to get started watching Amazon Originals like “Sneaky Pete,” “Bosch,” “The Boys,” “Tales from the Loop,” “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan” and more. Prime TV shows include “Upload,” “Vikings,” “Downton Abbey,” and others. Catch movies like “A Quiet Place,” “Brittany Runs a Marathon,” and more.
Tubi, Free movies, and TV
Tubi is a free and legal content provider owned and operated by the Fox Entertainment Division of the Fox Corporation and arguably your best bet for easy access to free, quality (non-Amazon-Prime) content on an Echo Show device. Tubi offers streaming video content from studios like Paramount, Lionsgate, MGM, and more.
Tubi viewers will find family movies like “A Turtles Tale,” and “Camp Cools Kids,” thrillers like “The Black Mass” and “Hitman: Agent 47” and horror flicks like “Final Destination 5,” and “The Devil’s Rejects.” and TV show favorites including “Hell’s Kitchen,” and “Unsolved Mysteries.” Search for shows or browse through categories like “Not on Netflix,” “Movie Night!” “Weekly Watchlist,” and others.

Tune into the 24/7 NFL channel or Fox Sports or watch shows like “Baywatch,” “Cold Case Files,” MTV’s “The Hills,” and more. Shows and movies are available in categories like “Tech + Geek,” “Kids,” “Life+ Style,” “Sports” and others. Binge episodes of on-demand shows like “Love Island,” “Cops,” “Three’s Company” and more.
Pluto TV is a great option for Fire TV devices but it’s not designed to be viewed on an Echo Show. You can, however, use a work-around to access Pluto TV on an Echo Show device. To access Pluto TV on an Echo Show, say, “Alexa, open Silk.” Once the Silk browser is open, select “search with Google.” Type “Pluto TV live” using the on-screen keyboard. Scroll down and click on “Pluto TV — live.” Pluto TV will suggest you download their app (you can’t do that on an Echo Show) so go ahead and tap “Continue on the Web.” You’ll now have access to live content offered by Pluto TV but the navigation experience is not ideal and services like Tubi will provide a better overall experience for viewing free content on an Echo Show device.
