If there’s a storm headed your way and you suspect the power may go out, consider putting your Alexa-enabled device in “do not disturb” mode. To do this, simply say, “Alexa, do not disturb.” If the power returns in the middle of the night, you won’t be awakened when your device reboots and Alexa loudly announces, “HELLO!”
Do not disturb mode must be turned on individually for each Alexa-enabled device and you will still be able to issue commands to your device while in this mode.
Do not disturb mode has some additional benefits as well. When your Alexa-enabled device is in this mode, you won’t be bothered by another user who chooses to call or drop-in on you. Say “Alexa, turn off do not disturb mode” to end this feature.
