Amazon now offers Alexa users the opportunity to share routines they’ve created with an Alexa device or through the Alexa app, with family and friends.
To get started, open the Alexa mobile app, tap “More” on the bottom right of your screen. Tap “Routines” and select a routine you’ve created, tap the three dots at the top right of your phone screen, tap “Share Routine.” Once you complete this action, you’ll create a link that allows you to share your routine via the typical “share” channels available on your phone, whether that’s through text message, email, chat, Facebook Messenger, or other means.
Users who receive your routine link will be able to use the same routine with their personal Alexa devices. Shared information includes your routine name and routine trigger phrase, the configuration details that trigger the routine (for example, saying “goodnight”), and actions like playing a particular song, turning lights on, and having Alexa respond with a custom phrase.
If you or your routine recipient opt to change the routine, the changes will only take place for your specific, individual devices and will not be shared across users and devices.
